On the heels of her New York Times best-selling book Drinking and TweetingReal Housewives of Beverly Hills star Brandi Glanville takes readers on a wild ride through her dating life in this highly entertaining relationship book.
From social media blunders to bedroom escapades, Brandi withholds nothing. Each chapter is inspired by a relationship encounter she has had since her sensational divorce from actor Eddie Cibrian. Just like Brandi herself, Drinking and Dating is sexy, funny, and eyebrow-raising.
What disappointed you about Drinking and Dating? I usually enjoy the authors outspoken daring attitude but this book was not fun and although I can relate to being betrayed she needs to not include the country singer in her books so much.
No need to give these people validation. It almost seemed like a grown person trying to hard to be "cool" and how she slept with half of LA. Didn't enjoy it. What could Brandi Glanville have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you? Less "hashtag" moments. What would have made Drinking and Dating better? Less hashtags and not so many f words.
Has Drinking and Dating turned you off from other books in this genre? By this author. She is a terrible writer. The reason this book is on the New York list is because she is a housewife. No I wish I had never listen to it.
Any additional comments? It is to bad that good writers can not get published yet some like Brandia can. The book is garbage. I am a Brandi fan, but listening to this book was like nails on a chalkboard. I give her props for narrating it herself but could possibly have stomached it a little longer if someone else had done it for her. She has a "lithp" that gets a pretty irratating, but moreso are her frequent odddly timed pauses.
The non stop hashtags were the icing on the cake.
I can't even stand them on-line, let alone hearing them be read by Brandi. I guess I shouldn't be surprised by the actual storyline, afterall, this is someone famous simply for being on a reality tv show, however, I thought she'd be more She is supposed to be known for her "take me as I am" attitude but in myopinion she just came accross conceited, materialistic and incredible arrogant.

I am officially on team Leanne from here on out. NEVER in a million years. If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Drinking and Dating? All of them. I hope no one is actually reading this book thinking they will take anything other than low self esteem away from it. And maybe how to play games with men.

Feb 15, Marlo Rees rated it it was ok. This was an annoying read. Not nearly as cute as the first one. I'm no prude but brandi is very vulgar and very full of herself. She makes constant excuses for her bad behavior and it honestly just gets old. It was also annoying hearing her act like such a Hollywood insider and not naming names of past dates but giving them a pseudonym.
I understand she probably couldn't name names for legal reasons but I found it very irritating. For example, I lost count of the times she describes herself perfe This was an annoying read. For example, I lost count of the times she describes herself perfectly reeling men in, by referring to the way she speaks to them as, "I purred. The way she refers to sex and her sexual appetite and being fulfilled was just crass and crude. Women like her are literally a dime a dozen in LA.
I lived there over ten years myself. That model type who knows they are beautiful and hits all the "right" places to be seen, while offering nothing more than the opportunity to hopefully become some famous or up and coming persons arm candy. Even the way she spoke of the celebs she hung out with was annoying. She tries to act like it doesn't phase her, yet she's obviously a little impressed or she wouldn't brag about it.
Maybe it just annoys me bc I know the scene she's talking about the overall LA scene. And save definitely describes it accurately. So maybe this would be a fun read if you are curious about dating in Hollywood. View 1 comment. Apr 14, Jen Borders rated it did not like it.
Opinion drinking and dating brandi glanville sorry, that has
Complete trash, and I actually like Brandi on the show. Her honesty and no bullshit attitude are so refreshing on a show of fake celebrities, but this is a little too much honesty for me. I'm no prude, but I certainly wouldn't want every tawdry hook-up or one-night stand in print for my children to read someday.
She really put the whore in horrific for this one. I couldn't possibly imagine everyone and literally their mother kno Complete trash, and I actually like Brandi on the show. I couldn't possibly imagine everyone and literally their mother knowing about my "dating" life.
I use the word "dating" in air quotes as she is really just writing about screwing anyone who showed an interest since her tumultuous divorce a few years back. Please Brandi, stick to your day job and don't write anything else! Don't even write a grocery list! Finally, since I have spent way too much time on this terrible read, hashtags are stupid on the internet.
They really don't work in print. View all 6 comments. May 20, Kristie rated it really liked it. Don't judge. It was funny, quick and pretty entertaining. Jul 12, Jennifer J. I wish it were possible to give ZERO stars! This was very difficult for me to finish but I think I need to finish things I start. The overuse of "hashtag" was extremely annoying and in audiobook form practically unbearable.
She acted like a spoiled sorority girl more than a divorced mother of two. I was embarrassed for her. I was looking for something light and funny and was just disappointed and disgusted. Mostly with her overuse of "hashtag" and stupid attitude than her poor choices. Mar 21, Jason LeRoy rated it it was ok. As a Brandi apologist who'd already read her very amusing first book, I decided to read the follow-up as an act of solidarity in the midst of the very, very bad season she's currently having on RHOBH.
While it's nominally a dating guide, let's just say that most of the advice Brandi offers in Drinking and Dating only really applies to her-or, I guess, to any other divorced ex-model glamazons with young children trying to find love in Los Angeles despite being recognizable reality stars. Brandi c As a Brandi apologist who'd already read her very amusing first book, I decided to read the follow-up as an act of solidarity in the midst of the very, very bad season she's currently having on RHOBH.
Brandi clearly didn't have as much material for this book as for her first, and you can feel her and her ghostwriter stretching to fill its pages with repetitive, not-always-entertaining anecdotes and tips. Like her first book, it suffers from an overemphasis on bitterly trashing Eddie and Leanne, as well as her annoying habit of peppering every paragraph with multiple hashtag phrases and extremely lame double entendres.
But every now and then, the things I love about Brandi-her rawness, frankness, and irreverent humor-shine through, such as in her unflinching story about having blackout sex on Christmas Eve because she was sad her sons were with Eddie. That is some realtalk, and this book would have benefited from more of it. Jul 22, Amaka Lily rated it liked it.
Oh my GOD. Now this book was too much.
Something is. drinking and dating brandi glanville commit
Waaaaaaay too much. I think the fact that people have praised her frank nature, went to her head, because in this one she was way, way, way, way, way, way, way too over-frank. My goodness. My opinion of her went down.
I still like her as a person-as much as you can like someone you've only seen on TV- but my lord, she came across as a very superficial, over-sexed, no boundaries, no scruples, sleeps with men easily type of a woman. In this age of over-sharin Oh my GOD.
In this age of over-sharing, I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. But I think that when you are a mother, you shouldn't put out there your sexual exploits.
There is also a particular graphic scene page And then the wine drinking. I don't think that Brandi really knows herself. I don't think she is as confident as she portrays.
There were quite a bit of contradictions, insecurities and just constant changing of her mind. Maybe I need to be from LA to understand this, because honestly, I don't understand the point. I liked her first book so much which led me to getting this one.
This one just rubbed me the wrong way. Brandi, you are beautiful. Get a hold of your insecurities and know that there is a man out there who will treasure you consistently. But you need to treasure yourself first. Mar 09, Yvonne rated it did not like it Shelves: read-in I wish I could give this less than one star and that I had listened to all the bad reviews.

Do yourself a solid and skip this book. Also, sleeping with men for gifts or money makes you a prostitute, no matter WHAT this woman tries to tell you in her book. I agree with everyone else about the overuse of hashtags, too. Mar 12, Debbie rated it it was ok Shelves: humor. Feb 19, Emily Schirmer rated it it was amazing Shelves: favorites. Well folks, Brandi has done it again. Drinking and Dating was just as hilarious and simultaneously reassuring and inspirational as her first novel, Drinking and Tweeting.
In fact, like Brandi herself, I too enjoyed taking a step away from discussing her ex-husband and the impact the divorce had on her life. It may have its downfalls, but she is such an inspiration to all women out there who have struggled with douche-bag men. Not to mention, her honesty and commitment to being real is so refreshing. It makes her so easy to relate to. She says that she is always honest - sometimes to a fault - and that held true. She was unafraid to spill the details of her dating life with her fans so that we could learn from the many mistakes she made.
But her confidence in being completely honest with us makes her story that much more appealing and hilarious. Brandi has a sense of humor about herself and will fully own up to her mistakes, which makes it so much more welcome for us to laugh along with her.
Remarkable, drinking and dating brandi glanville phrase can
She gets crazy sometimes as we all do and says inappropriate in the best way! I have a damn good feeling that if I ever had the opportunity to meet Brandi in person we would become close friends. Because she treats us like friends by letting us be a part of her life and experience her journey - the good and the bad - along with her. Life is about being real and owning your mistakes.
Live be real, even if it means being inappropriate or crazy and learn by owning your mistakes you help yourself grow and help yourself move on and things will work out okay. If Brandi can get through what she has, so can we! Her story of her dating history is absolutely hilarious and interesting and refreshingly honest.
Because it is honest, real, funny, inspirational, open-minded, and chalk-full of great stories. Need some dating inspiration? So, I read Brandi's first book last year and found it surprisingly entertaining. Due to that, I figured her next book would make me laugh, too. I was wrong. I don't know what she was going for here.
Her first book was full of random thoughts and stories but they were at least entertaining, and I shamelessly wanted to hear the dirty details about Eddie and LeAnn. THIS book, though, was so very pointless. I'm not exaggerating, there is nothing else to this book except for her sexual conquests.
Come on Brandi, at least give me some gossipy stories about Hollywood!
All in all, this was a waste of time. Apr 26, Kari rated it liked it. Of course it is no literary amazingness - but I listened to this while cleaning my house yesterday. Its just fun, inappropriate, ridiculous, a bit dumb. Quick and easy and was perfect while doing the tasks of the day. I tend to find while her behavior is often times very poor, but I often agree with Brandy's general reasoning points on RHOBH, and the same can be said for this entertaining little "listen".

That somewhat explains why I am reviewing this terrible book. If you're even entertaining reading this it is probably for one reason only, you watch Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Look, I get it
